The Labour Party has congratulated Joseph Cuschieri after a motion was moved in  Parliament naming him to take Malta's sixth seat in the European Parliament.

The party said this was final confirmation of the sixth seat for Malta. Cuschieri will also be the fourth Labour MEP, having been nominated on the basis of his showing at the 2009 European Parliament elections.
