Two men were fined this afternoon after they were pleaded guilty to hunting related crimes.
Carl Debono was fined €600 and had his weapon licence confiscated for a year after he admitted to hunting during the closed season and encouraging others to do the same.
He was also charged with carrying a hunting weapon during the closed season and with being a relapser.
The police said he had shotguns without the necessary pin which limited the weapon to firing two shots.
Neal Debono was fined €600 and had his weapon licence revoked for a year after he admitted to hunting for rabbit without the necessary licence.
A dead bird, which was not protected, was also found in his possession 36 hours before the opening of the hunting season.
Both men were represented by Veronique Dalli and Franco Debono.
