Accidents reported in Lija, Pietà and Qormi

Transport Malta on Wednesday urged motorists to avoid three areas - in Lija, Pietà and Qormi - following three accidents within three hours.

The first accident - at around 5.30am - was reported near the Lija roundabout, where a DAF truck carrying gravel overturned.

No injuries were reported, but diesel and oil were spilt onto the street.

Soon after, a car overturned near Sa Maison, partially closing the lane leading towards Msida.

And at around 8.30am, a motorcyle and a coach were involved in a crash on Mdina Road in Qormi near the Kia showroom on the lane leading south.

Motorists reported a tailback as far back as Rabat.

No one was injured in all three accidents.

TM urged drivers to drive carefully, follow the official's instructions and wherever possible, use alternative roads until the impacted lanes are cleared.
