Stage is set for Damiano David, Henderson, DJ Alok at Isle of MTV concert
Concert-goers urged to make use of public transport
The Floriana fosos has been transformed into a large performance space ready to welcome thousands to the 17th Isle of MTV Malta on Tuesday evening.
With doors set to open at 5pm, the audience looks set to battle sweltering temperatures to watch Italian singer-songwriter Damanio David, British chart-topper Ella Henderson and Brazilian artist Alok.
Malta’s Eurovision Song Contest contestant, Miriana Conte, will open the show at 6.30pm with songs including her well-known Eurovision entry Serving.
The first international artist to hit the stage will be Ella Henderson, best known for her tracks Ghost and Filthy Rich.

Damiano David, best known as the lead singer of Italian rock band and Eurovision winner Måneskin, will be the second artist to take to the stage.

It remains to be seen whether the singer will treat the crowd to a performance of Maneskin’s winning Eurovision track, Zitti e buoni.
The Italian singer is currently touring Europe, with further performances lined up for North America, Australia, South America, and Asia.
The night will close with a DJ set by popular Brazilian artist ALOK, best known for his hit single Hear Me Now. He previously collaborated with major artists including Dua Lipa, John Legend and Ed Sheeran.

Photo: Jonathan BorgTo avoid traffic, those heading to the Fosos are being urged to leave their car at home and make use of a special public transport service. Additional services have been added to provide transport to and from the popular event.
Tallinja cardholders can travel for free on special service trips, as well as regular night trips. Passengers without a valid Tallinja card can purchase tickets for €3 per passenger.
Triq Sarria Street in Floriana will be closed to traffic for the concert.
Transport Malta advised commuters to use alternative routes and concertgoers to use alternative means of transportation.
Designated drop-off and pick-up points for cabs and rideshares will be located at Notre Dame Ditch, in Floriana.
The concert is free but concertgoers need to obtain a ticket online to be given access to the venue.
