Liturgical vestments on display during Visitation feast
Għarb parish church displays vestments of late Bishop Nikol Cauchi and his brother Mgr Achille
The niche that houses the processional statue of the Visitation throughout the year at Għarb parish church has been temporarily transformed into a special display featuring liturgical vestments and sacred objects once used by Bishop Nikol Cauchi and his brother Mgr Achille Cauchi for the feast of the Visitation being celebrated tomorrow, Sunday.
These treasured items, together with other memorabilia, were generously donated to the parish by their sister, Gemma Cauchi, ensuring that these precious artefacts have found a fitting home where they can be appreciated and preserved for future generations.
Anyone visiting the parish church during these festive days is invited to visit the Ecclesia Mater parish museum, which will be open free of charge today and tomorrow. The museum features a permanent exhibition of sacred art spanning from the Phoenician era to the present day. Visitors can explore artifacts like Punic pottery, ancient Arabic and Jewish coins, church silver and a 1774 papal bull.
