Malta Development Association co-opts four new members to council
Rhys Buttigieg, Darren Ciantar, Erskine Vella, and Matthew Zammit were unanimously co-opted
The Malta Development Association on Friday said it had co-opted Rhys Buttigieg, Darren Ciantar, Erskine Vella, and Matthew Zammit to its council.
The council unanimously approved their co-option in recognition of their willingness and eagerness to actively contribute to the work of the association ahead of the AGM planned for later this year.
They join pesident Michael Stivala, vice president Denise Xuereb, treasurer Alfred Camilleri, acting secretary general Pierre Galea, and council members Malcolm Mallia, Euchar Vella, and Dana Farrugia.
The MDA said the new members' contribution will support the association's efforts to address key issues affecting the sector, advocate for practical and sustainable policies, and engage constructively with stakeholders.
Earlier this year, Times of Malta reported the resignation of three top officials from the powerful developers' lobby: Paul Attard, the association’s secretary general and council members Anton Camilleri, known as Tal-Franċiż and Pio Vassallo.
It later transpired Camilleri and Vassallo were among the bidders for an affordable housing scheme that the MDA claimed was unlawful state aid.
