Vanessa Frazier is first guest in Times of Malta subscriber series

Times of Malta paid subscribers will have the opportunity to meet one of the most senior Maltese diplomats at the first in-person event for subscribers next week.

The exclusive conversation with UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, Vanessa Frazier, will take place at Theatre Next Door in Naxxar on Thursday, July 9, at 6pm. It will be followed by refreshments.

Over a diplomatic career spanning more than three decades, Frazier has served in London, Brussels, Rome and New York, occupying key roles at the heart of international diplomacy. She now heads one of the United Nations' most high-profile mandates, advocating for the protection of children caught up in armed conflicts around the world.

Known for her forthright style and ability to navigate complex international negotiations, Frazier has witnessed some of the defining geopolitical crises of recent decades from close quarters.

She also made international headlines in recent weeks following a sharp exchange with Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, after she highlighted the impact of the conflict in Gaza on children. 

During the event, Times of Malta editor-in-chief Herman Grech will interview Frazier about her career, the challenges confronting the international community and Malta's role on the global stage.

Subscribers will then have the opportunity to put their own questions to Frazier during a Q&A session.

The event marks the first in a new series of exclusive in-person meetings organised by Times of Malta for its subscribers, offering them direct access to leading figures from public life, politics, business and culture.
