Swieqi woman, 60, dies after falling ill while swimming

The drowning took place on Saturday evening

A 60-year-old woman from Swieqi died on Saturday after getting into difficulty while swimming in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, police said. 

The incident happened at 8pm.

Several people helped to get the woman out of the sea.

A medical team also assisted the woman but she died on admission at Mater Dei Hospital. 

Magistrate Joe Mifsud is holding an investigation.
