A worker was left with serious injuries after falling around a storey at a construction site in San Ġwann.

The police said the accident took place on Ugo Carbonaro Street at 11.30am.

The man was assisted by a medical team before being rushed to Mater Dei hospital.

The man's identity is still unknown.

A police invesigation is ongoing. Magistrate Gabriella Vella is leading an inquiry into the case.

Earlier in the morning a 52-year-old man injured himself grievously after slipping and falling on a steel beam at his work place in St Paul's Bay.

And on Friday, a 46-year-old Albanian man was also left grievously injured while sawing wood at a construction site in Xagħra.
