The 19-year-old man, who cannot be named because he was a minor at the time of the commissioning of the crime, admitted to escaping from a detention centre on May, 10, 2006. He also pleaded guilty to using the identity card of an Egyptian national.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera heard how the man had used the identity card of the Egyptian man because they resembled each other.
Police Inspector Edel Mary Camilleri prosecuted.
