An anti-Gaddafi protest outside the Libyan embassy in Attard was threatening to get violent this morning, with the crowd of some 100 threatening to force its way into the building if the ambassador did not leave.
One of those taking part also threw a stone at an embassy window.
The crowd shouted in Arabic "We're here to stay until he (the ambassador) leaves and if he doesn't we're going in... Today you have to decide you're either here or there. You're either with the country or not."
They also burned Libyan banknotes and an Italian flag while shouting insults at Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, a friend of Col Gaddafi.
Earlier, they called on the "hero" pilots who arrived in Malta on military jets after they defected yesterday to tell them what was happening.
"We want to speak to them and they should also speak to media. They are heroes, they should tell us what is happening," they said.
The protest is the second in as many days.
Some of those taking part were emotional. The eyes of one of them filled with tears when he described having seen pictures of massacres in his country.
"There are rivers of blood on the streets of Tripoli," he said adding that Serbian planes were being sent to bomb civilian protesters.
Holding graphic internet print-outs of the atrocities currently taking place in Libya, the protesters called on the ambassador to resign like other diplomats.
Yesterday, the some 250 mostly Libyan men who protested, called for the ousting of the Libyan leader, the resignation of the ambassador and the replacement of the Libyan flag at the embassy with the post independence flag.
This morning, as the first protesters gathered, a man who appeared to be pro-government objected to the protest and argued with an organiser and the police before being led away.
