Policemen sprung into action when a man was spotted jumping from roof to roof in Swieqi yesterday morning.

The man, who turned out to be a 21-year-old Swedish national who resides in St Julians, was arrested after the rooftop chase in Swieqi Road.

He was first spotted by a Swieqi councillor who happened to be looking onto the road. The man was noticed on the rooftops at about 10.30 a.m. Residents alerted the police who gave chase. He tried to escapte but was apprehended after a 20-minute chase.

He was handcuffed and escorted to the police station for questioning.

One of the policemen was seen holding a Playstation joystick, which was allegedly found in the man’s possession.
