A 1950s C- type Jaguar taking part in the Valletta Grand prix crashed into an electricity pole in Great Siege Road near the Excelsior Hotel this morning.
No one was injured but the front part of the Jag was heavily damaged. The incident brought out the safety car and interrupted the time trials.
A Rolls Royce also spun as it turned near the Phoenicia, but it stayed on the road and did not hit anything.
