A police sergeant was today granted bail against a deposit of €1,000 and a personal guarantee of €5,000, after he pleaded not guilty to stealing around €30,000.

Adrian Lia, 37, of San Gwann was charged with stealing money which the police had retrieved from illegal gambling.
