Works on the new football ground in Mgarr Road, Nadur, are currently under way.
This is the second pitch to be made out of artificial turf in Nadur after the local council finished a five-a-side ground in the Boys' MUSEUM last year.
The project is being carried out by AllSports International after an agreement was reached with the local council, the Nadur Youngsters Football Club and the Gozo Ministry.
The ministry was responsible for the works on the concrete biscuit and the pitch levelling, while the local council and Nadur Youngsters FC provided the artificial turf.
The council will also install new floodlights while facilities for bowls and a kiosk have also been set up.
The new pitch, which will be used by all the Nadur Youngsters, can be divided into two five-a-side pitches.
The ground, which is expected to be finished in a few days, will be used immediately. Negotiations are also taking place for a pitch to be set up at Nadur Primary School, courtesy of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations).
