The ninth BMV Music Competition was held on June 21 at the Sala Isouard, Manoel Theatre. The talent and dedication of the young musicians taking part made the evening truly enjoyable.

The first prize - a short residential music course at the Lake District summer school of music, presented by Mr Vincent Fean, the British High Commissioner, on behalf of NCW of Great Britain, was awarded to Valerie Anne Fenech.

Mgr Fortunato Mizzi presented two season tickets for Manoel Theatre concerts to Charlene Farrugia, who placed second. Christine M. Cassar was awarded the third prize, consisting of book tokens worth Lm30.

NCW warmly congratulates Valerie Anne Fenech and wishes her success in her musical career as previous BMV winners have had in the past, both locally and internationally.
