The bright lights of New York’s Broadway are set to reach Eden Cinemas on Thursday, as smash-hit musical Smokey Joe’s Café premieres in a one-night-only screening at 8.30 p.m

The spectacle, which features the original cast, will be brought to audiences direct from Broadway courtesy of Supervision Media and Broadway Worldwide – allowing fans all over the world to view top musicals a little closer to home, at a fraction of the price.

The electric theatrical show earned seven 1994-1995 Tony Award nominations and the title for Best Musical Album at the prestigious Grammy Awards in 1996.

The album features internationally cherished songs by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stroller – 40 of which appear in the musical itself.

Other Eden screenings this year include Jekyll and Hyde (March 1), Putting it Together (April 5) and Memphis (May 4).

Tickets cost €10 for adults and €7 for under 16s.
