ATTARD. On February 16, WILHELM, aged 51, of Ħamrun, residing in Attard, passed away surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Marisa née Sciortino, his children Luca and Emma, his parents Josephine and Anthony and his parents-in-law Annie and Alfred, his brothers Dr Stephen and his wife Charlotte, Rueben and his wife Deborah, his wife’s sisters and brother Angela and her husband Marco, Philip and his wife Graziella and Daniela and her husband Frankie, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Monday, February 19, at 2pm for Attard parish church. A mass to celebrate his life will be said at 3pm, followed by burial in the family’s grave at Qalb ta’ Ġesù cemetery, Żebbuġ. The family would appreciate if donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, are made in loving memory of Wilhelm. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
BONNICI. On February 17 at Little Sisters of the Poor residence in Ħamrun, LILIANA, widow of Joseph, aged 83, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Fr Keith Bonnici, her in-laws, family and friends. The funeral will be held at the Little Sisters of the Poor residence in Ħamrun on Tuesday, February 20, where mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 10.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Marija Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
CURMI – HELEN. On Friday, February 2, peacefully at Nobles Hospital. Aged 101, of Ballaughton Manor Hill, Douglas. Helen leaves behind her son John, grandchildren Matthew and Serena, and great-grandchildren Louis, Helen, Beth and Margot. A service of celebration for Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 21, at 2pm at Douglas Borough Chapel, Glencrutchery Rd, Isle of Man.
D’UGO. On February 16, CLIFFORD, aged 74, passed away peacefully after a long illness, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Annabelle née Brown, his children Rachel and Kevin, his brothers and sisters, his sisters-in-law, other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, February 20, at 8am for San Ġwann parish church. A mass to celebrate his life will be said at 8.30am, followed by burial in the family’s grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would appreciate if donations to Hospice Malta are made in loving memory of Clifford. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DAMATO. On February 15, MARIO, widower of Johanna Stoger, of Paola and residing in Birżebbuġa, aged 68, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his deep loss his daughter Samira, his immediate family, as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Monday, February 19, at 7.45am for Christ the King Basilica, Paola, where mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Mario Damato, who had started his career as a lawyer, founded the Greenpeace Mediterranean office. He went on to become Greenpeace’s International Campaign and Development Director, a professional journey which took him to China, where he developed the Greenpeace China and East Asia offices. He will be dearly missed by all his colleagues, collaborators and employees who saw him as an inspiration. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Greenpeace International on www. greenpeace.org/international/support/donate-today/ would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
DONEO. On February 16, at Mater Dei, ROBERT, of San Ġwann, aged 77, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Maria Concetta, his brother Louis and his wife Mary, his brothers-in-law Joseph, Michael and his wife Anna, Fr Anton, Carmelo, widow of Julia, Tarcisio and his wife Maria, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Monday, February 19, at 8am for Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, where mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at San Leone Cemetery, Żurrieq. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SULTANA. On February 17, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, LYDIA, of Rabat and residing in Attard, aged 72, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her deep loss her husband Prof. Victor Sultana, her daughter Dr Sarah Sultana and her son in-law Johann Baldacchino Romano, her son Kenneth and his partner Anita Virag, her brothers and sisters and their spouses, her in-laws and their spouses, nephews and nieces, as well as other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, February 20, at 1.15pm for St Paul’s Basilica, Rabat, where mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Puttinu Cares would be greatly appreciated.
