Man. United legend Irwin to visit Malta
MUSC in partnership deal with Banif Bank

Local Manchester United fans are in for a treat this month as club legend Denis Irwin will be visiting the islands between November 22 and 23 on an invitation from Banif Bank (Malta) plc.
The news was communicated to the media by the bank’s chief operating officer Nuno Martins, who also announced a four-year partnership agreement with the Manchester United Supporters Club (MUSC).
To mark the new partnership agreement, Irwin, winner of the famous 1999 Treble, will be attending an activity at the club on November 22. On the night, the former Ireland full-back will also be replying to questions by a local presenter in a one-to-one question and answer session.
Those attending will participate in a unique competition and get a chance to watch their favourite team during practising at the AON Training Complex on December 31 and watch the English Premier League match between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day together with a guest.
“This ‘money-can’t-buy’ experience is an example of what’s to come for all passionate fans in Malta,” Martins said.
“Banif Bank is very pleased to be associated with the oldest and one of the most active supporters’ club on the Maltese islands. Through this close collaboration with MUSC, the fans are in for some great incentives and opportunities that will bring them closer than ever to their favourite football club.”
MUSC president Joseph Tedesco has good reason to be excited about the latest developments at his organisation.
“MUSC Malta is absolutely delighted to have Banif Bank in the list of main business partners of our historical fan club,” he said.
“It will be great for us to receive a true professional and loyal player such as Denis Irwin at our home.
“In his recent autobiography, Alex Ferguson described Irwin as the only name he would not hesitate to include in his all-time best XI so it will be an honour for us to present him to our members.”
Tedesco said more information about Irwin’s visit can be found on the facebook page Manchester United Red Arena – Malta.
