As an entrepreneur, Adrian Kreter is a trailblazer with the foresight to capitalise on emerging business trends. His journey started early with successful technology ventures. Offering software development expertise and IT consultancy to large enterprises, Kreter gained valuable insights into traditional business models. It is at this stage that he started to form ideas around the significance that technology could play in disrupting inefficiencies in these industries.
In tandem with Kreter’s insights to harness emerging trends before becoming mainstream, his vision materialised significantly with the founding of his first Fintech company Instacoins in 2018. In 2019, two significant business trends are emerging, both of which Kreter had the foresight to adopt when building the business model of Instacoins. These being remote working and the acceptance of crypto as a mainstream payment method.
The rise of remote working once considered an impossibility is now accelerated by advancements in digital technology, is fundamentally transforming traditional workplace dynamics. According to a 2019 Gallup survey, over 43 per cent of employees are now working remotely at least part of the time. This shift towards a more flexible work environment has become increasingly important for employee retention and satisfaction. Recognising this early on, Kreter structured his companies to leverage the benefits of remote working. He himself exemplifies this model, utilising technology to maintain productivity and efficiency to work from any location worldwide.
"Embracing remote work isn't just about flexibility; it's about harnessing the best talent irrespective of geographical boundaries," Mr Kreter remarked in a recent interview. Instacoins is thriving under this model, demonstrating that a well-managed remote workforce can innovate and achieve productivity equal to in-office working set-up.
Parallel to the remote work trend, Kreter recognises the potential of Bitcoin and blockchain technology. Current headlines are proliferated by the future of digital currencies and customer demand driving more flexible payment methods. Customers are increasingly seeking secure, speedy, and non-traditional payment options, such as Bitcoin.
Instacoins has since emerged as a market leader in fiat-to-crypto brokerage, providing a secure and user-friendly platform for buying Bitcoin. "Our mission since we started has always been that of making digital currencies accessible while ensuring security for our clients," Kreter stated. This approach has not only met the growing demand for diverse payment options but has also positioned Instacoins at the forefront of the fintech industry.
In recognition of his innovative contributions to the fintech sector, Kreter was named Malta’s Best Fintech Entrepreneur and Best Start-Up Entrepreneur at the 2019 Malta Best Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. These accolades, awarded at a prestigious ceremony held at Smart City on September 20, celebrated Maltese entrepreneurs who exhibit a drive and passion for innovation. Adrian Kreter was also nominated for Best Innovation Entrepreneur of the Year and Best Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year, further solidifying his reputation as a leading leader in the business community.
Reflecting on his journey, Kreter attributes his success to a relentless focus on innovation and a deep understanding of evolving market and customer needs. His ability to anticipate and adapt to trends like remote working and crypto adoption has not only driven his companies' growth but also set a benchmark in the industry.
As we look towards the future, Kreter's entrepreneurial drive serves as a testament to the power of vision, innovation, and a proactive approach to emerging business trends. The courage to embrace change, think ahead and critically to leverage technology as a key tool to innovate.
