Malta Wings this afternoon announced it will be investing in a new aircraft for the training of pilots and a new hangar.

The announcement was made during a visit by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.

He congratulated the company which had started with just one aircraft but now has five.

Malta, he said, was growing in the aviation sector, it had a strong presence in aircraft maintenance, a sector which employed 1,000 people and this sector would continue to grow through the development of an aviation park.

This, he said, was another important step that would give the country more and better jobs.
