A 75-year-old man was seriously injured late on Wednesday when he fell off a ladder while carrying out some work in a Siġġiewi field.

The accident, in the Wied il-Ħesri area, was reported at 8.30pm.

Civil Protection Department officials provided first aid on site before an ambulance rushed him to Mater Dei Hospital. 

A magisterial inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
