A motorcyclist has been grievously injured in a traffic accident on Triq Dun Karm, Birkirkara.

The police said the 25-year-old man from Gudjawas involved in a crash with a Ford Fiesta driven by a 19-year-old man from St Paul's Bay.

The accident was reported at 7.10am on Friday.

Emergency medical services provided assistance on site and the motorcylist was taken by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified to have grievous injuries. 

Police investigations are ongoing.
