A 30-year-old Tunisian woman was killed when she was hit by a car in Xemxija, limits of St Paul's Bay, on Sunday evening.

The police said the woman was hit by a Mercedes Benz C350 at Xemxija Hill just after 8pm. Four parked cars were also damaged.

A Tunisian man, who was accompanying the woman, together with a 42-year-old Mellieħa man who was driving the car, suffered slight injuries.

An inquiry is being held and the police are investigating.

The road was temporarily closed to traffic.
