With reference to the letter Bus Passanger Taken Ill (March 31), I would like to clarify that the lady passenger was my dearest wife Julie Apap, who unfortunately from the time of feeling ill on the bus, never regained consiousness and passed peacefully away in hospital a few hours later the same day.

Before boarding the bus together with her elderly father, Julie had been talking to the English tourists on the bus stop and it was these same persons who later on while on the bus, alerted her father that Julie was not well.

As stated in the other letter, the bus driver was indeed extremely kind throughout this sad episode and I together with my family would like to thank most sincerely this driver and any other persons who were of help until Julie was taken in the ambulance.

It is very true that this is the kind of bus drivers we need in Malta.
