Westin Dragonara Malta has won the 2010 award for food and beverage excellence at the Starwood Regional Round Tables Meeting held in Costa Navarino, Greece. The award is for the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region.

The executive team of the Westin Dragonara Resort attended the annual conference during which the current year’s performance indexes and future strategies for the hotel were reviewed in detail by Even Frydenberg, senior vice-president for operations in EAME and other members of the divisional team.

The meetings and workshops were concluded with a grand celebration event held in the Great Hall of the Westin Resort Costa Navarino.

This award was presented to the Westin Dragonara Resort team by Roeland Vos, divisional Starwood president for EAME, Frits Van Paasschen, Starwood president and CEO, and Robert Koren, vice-president regional director for Italy and the Central Mediterranean.

The award recognises the Westin Dragonara Resort’s gross operating profit margins growth, guest satisfaction index and meeting and planner satisfaction index improvements for 2010.

Michael Kamsky, general manager of the Westin Dragonara Resort, said the award was greatly appreciated.

“It recognises the collective efforts made by the entire team at The Westin. It is thanks to our employees and their commitment and de-dication that such results can be achieved,” Mr Kamsky said.
