A talk on the maritime history of Malta, covering the Neolithic, Punic, Roman and Medieval periods, will be held on February 16.

Reuben Grima, known for his connection to the sea and the prehistory of Malta will talk about this mysterious and fascinating time.

The first accounts of history were written with the arrival of the Phoenicians and, later, the Romans. Anthony Bonanno will cover these phases and explain how Malta became a strategic maritime island.

Historian Charles Dalli will address the maritime story of Malta and Gozo during the Middle Ages.

Daniel Cilia will accompany the speakers with his photography from the book The Maritime History of Malta, the First Millennia, published by the Salesians of Don Bosco and Heritage Malta, which the authors will sign after the talk at the Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard.

The talk is being organised by Flimkien ghal Ambjent Aħjar, in collaboration with the Salesians of Don Bosco.

Those wishing to attend can book by e-mailing bookings@faa.org.mt or phoning Carmen on 9980 6060.
