Marriages

Mr NEIL QUINN and Ms MICHELLE AGIUS
The marriage took place on August 22 at Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar, between NEIL, son of the late James and Patricia Quinn, and MICHELLE, daughter of Vince and Barbara Agius. Mr Martin Quinn carried out the duties of best man, assisted by Master William Johnson. The bride was attended by Caron Knight, Isabella Cuthbert and Emma Johnson. Robert Quinn was pageboy, while Vincent Agius and Danny Agius were ushers. The bride was given away by her father and her son Jack Ellis. The bride and groom held the reception at Palazzo Parisio in the company of family and friends from Malta, the UK, New Zealand, Australia, the US, Iran and Spain.

Golden Wedding

Obituary

AZZOPARDI. On August 22, ANTHONY, ex-headmaster, aged 65, peacefully went to meet the risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church after an illness borne very courageously. Beloved husband of Rose, he also leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Nadia and her husband Dr Richard Portelli, his son Alex and his wife Lisa, his grandchildren Jean Luc, Julia and Alessia, his sister Grace, his brothers Saviour and Daniel, spouses, family and friends - R.I.P. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth Church in Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan would be appreciated.

CASSAR. On August 21, at Villa Messina, Rabat, MARIA, née Gerada, widow of Edgar, aged 97, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Minnie, Edgar and his wife Mary Rose, Julie and her husband Carmel Bonnici, her grandchildren David and his wife Tiziana, Angie and her husband Antoine Caruana, her great-granddaughter Ria, her brothers, Archbishop Emmanuel Gerada and Dr Anthony Gerada, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. FALZON. On August 20, in Beaconsfield, Montreal, Canada, EDWIN, aged 66, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Christiane, his daughters Charmaine, Rowena and Petra and their spouses, his grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Raffael and Harrison, his sister Yvonne, wife of Anthony Preca, his brother Wilfred and his wife Theresa, his nephew and nieces, and his numerous cousins and friends in Malta and Canada, especially Joe and Bertha Camilleri and George and Juliette Attard. Salvino Beck ,and Judith, widow of architect Carmlino Spiteri, her grandchildren Michelle, Davina and Luke, Chantel, Cassandra, Matthew and David, her great-grandchildren Kurt, Kirsten, Steven, Michela, Sara, Dino, Emily, Martine, Lee and Ryan, other relatives and friends - R.I.P. Mrs Susan Bonnici and family would like to thank the Rev. Clergy who celebrated Mass, relatives and friends who attended the funeral service, sent cards, flowers or donations, offered Masses or in any way showed sympathy and support on the sad loss of their dearly loved JOSEPH BONNICI (proprietor of Sammy's Tavern, Xemxija), who went to meet the Risen Lord on July 26, 2008. Special thanks go to the professor, the ITU doctors, nurses and all the staff who looked after him with great care and dedication.
