A man armed with a knife ran off with cash after a midday hold-up at a gaming shop in St Paul's Bay on Monday.

The police said the hooded man entered the shop in Triq il-Qrol and demanded cash from a 21-year-old shop assistant.

She was unhurt.

A magisterial inquiry is being held.
