A total of Lm1,200 was donated to the Park of Friendship following the 18th edition of the Malta Shipyards Singers Contest held recently on the grounds of Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija in Marsascala, which saw the participation of 37 singers.

Kayleigh Cassar won the category for seven to nine year olds with the song Minn Dejjem Hlomt by Paul Ellul and Priscilla Psaila; Rochelle Grech won the category for 10 to 11 year olds singing Semmghali Ghanja Helwa by Joe Chircop and Priscilla Psaila; Domenique Azzopardi won the category for 12 to 13 year olds with the song Dawl fid-Dlam by George Cremona and Mark Debono while Graziella Vassallo won the category for 14 year olds and over with the song Through Your Eyes by Doris Chetcuti and Renato Briffa.
