Well-known dancer Alicia Joy died yesterday at the age of 39, after battling an illness for the last two years.

She started her dancing career with her parents, Reno and Benita, better known as Los Boleros, when she was only three.

After the loss of her parents, Alicia formed her own dance group, The Alicia Joy Dancers. The group performs in various entertainment establishments in Malta.

She leaves behind her children Kim and Amy, husband Louis and many friends, her dance group said in a statement.

Her funeral will be held at Stella Maris Church, Sliema tomorrow at 2.30 p.m.
