A young boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a van in St Paul's Bay on Wednesday evening. 

The police said the four-year-old was hit by a Toyota HiAce on Triq Annetto Caruana. The accident happened at about 8pm.

The van was being driven by a 28-year-old man from Birkirkara.

The boy is being treated in hospital. The police are investigating.
