President Myriam Spiteri Debono has had a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Rome.

The Office of the President said bilateral relations were discussed, particularly trade, as well as EU and Mediterranean affairs.

The president is due to have an audience with Pope Francis on Friday before travelling to Poland for the commemoration of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp 80 years ago.
