Two elderly pedestrians grievously injured by van in Sliema

The accident was reported at 1pm on Triq Gort

Two elderly pedestrians from Sliema were grievously injured on Thursday when they were hit by a van in St Julian's.

The police said the accident, on Triq Gort, was reported at 1pm.

The two - a woman aged 76 and a man aged 77 - were hit by a Ford Tranit driven by a 49-year-old resident from Żurrieq.

Police investigations are ongoing.
