Obituaries 

CARUANA. On June 12, EDWIN of Swieqi, widower of Mary Rose, née Gauci, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Mourning his great loss are his daughters Sandra and her husband Mario Hyzler, Josianne and her partner Steve Darmanin, beloved grandchildren Kurt and Rachael, Emma and Simon, Hannah, Maxine, Luke, great-granddaughters Julia, Emily, Charlotte, and Suzannah; his siblings Evelyn and Alfio, Lilian and Victor, Joe and Margaret, his in-laws, nephews and nieces. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow, Saturday, June 15, at 9.30am, at Tal-Ibraġ parish church, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MIFSUD. On June 13, JEAN RITA, née Ellul Mercer, aged 91, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Christ, surrounded by her loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her sons Colin and Andrew, her grandchildren Kane, Sofia, Kenny and Jenny, Colin’s partner Sabine, their family and friends. Funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow, Saturday, June 15, at 8.45am, at St Gregory the Great parish church, Sliema, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to St Paul’s Home (The Little Sisters of the Poor, Ħamrun), would be kindly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

WIRTH. On June 6, at Doctors Hospital, Nassau-Bahamas, VIOLET LUVINA, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She is mourned by her husband of 50 years Gerard J. Wirth, Hon. Consul of Malta-Bahamas, her children Patrice and Elizabeth, sisters Dianne and Hildred, sons-in-law Steven, Peter, grandchildren Sheena Thompson, husband Jeffrey – Travis Jones – Bianca and James Galatis – great-grandchildren Alyse and Liah Thompson – Zachary and Stefanos Galatis-Aiden and Brendon Jones. Funeral will be held at St Paul’s Apostle Roman Catholic church, Lyford Cay, Nassau, tomorrow, Saturday, June 15, at 10.10am, followed by cremation.
